LCYCC
Refreshing LCYCC’s
web presence.
Overview.
London City Airport Consultative Committee (formerly LCACC) exists to provide a positive, inclusive forum to discuss all aspects of the airport’s development and operations that impact airport users and people living/working in the surrounding area.
The independent London City Airport Consultative Committee (LCYCC) first convened in 1987. Since then, LCY has grown into a bustling international airport bringing national and local benefits, as well as some downsides for nearby residents in terms of noise and congestion.

Brief.
In 2023, London City Airport was embarking on a huge operation to refresh and relaunch its primary website - along with a host of smaller associated websites. One of which was LCYCC, formerly LCACC.
The current website was outdated and difficult to maintain. Our objective was to re-vamp the user experience, to ensure everyone could access up-to-date information on meetings and annual reports.

Response.
Discovery Workshops with the client and key stakeholders revealed that the primary audience groups were local community groups, sub-committees (environment, transport), residents and MPs. A lot of the pain points we uncovered were around accessing resources. Meetings were not recorded, so the flow of the website needs to be efficient. In response, we stripped back the number of pages and highlighted key functionality. The meeting/reports section was completely reworked with interactive elements, a shareable pop-up modal for each element and simple filtering.
During the project, the name LCACC was changed to LCYCC. We secured an additional budget to create a suite of new logos and to make sure the branding fit into the wider family.

Results.
Within weeks of joining Effect, I was assigned this project (with a budget/proposal already signed off).
The website was launched on time and on budget, and we secured a contingency fund to support go-live enhancements.
